“Mlada Khudoley was a sexually aggressive Sieglinde, she and Domingo making a striking couple.” October 9, 2006 Los Angeles Times Mark Sweed In 2001, during the Mariinsky Theatre White Nights Festival, Mlada received her big international break. She stared as Sieglinde in Die Walküre with Maestro Placido Domingo, conducted by Valery Gergiev. This performance was a stupendous success. After this performance Maestro Domingo presented Mlada with four contracts to sing in Washington DC Opera and Los Angeles Opera.
Ms. Khudoley’s first trip to America was at Maestro Domingo’s invitation as a cover for Salome at Washington DC Opera. From there Ms. Khudoley went to Los Angeles Opera to cover Abigaille in Nabucco. In April 2003, Ms. Khudoley made her Los Angeles opera debut as Senta in Richard Wagner’s Flying Dutchman with Bernd Wielki and Matti Salminen. In November 2003, Ms. Khudoley stared in Washington DC opera’s production of Die Walküre, once again with Maestro Domingo. The success from the Washington DC and Los Angeles debuts lead to contracts in Palermo Teatro Massimo The Flying Dutchman with Maestro Gabriel Ferro (May 2004), Don Giovanni and Salome at the Gulbenkian Center in Lisbon with Maestro Lawrence Foster, Norma in St. Gallen, Switzerland with Maestro Antonello Allemandi, et al.
Recently, Ms. Khudoley stared with Maestro Domingo once again in Warsaw, Poland’s concert production of Die Walküre and reprised the same role with Maestro Domingo during the Mariinsky Theatre Ring Cycle at Segerstrom Hall Orange County, October 7, 2006.
Ms. Khudoley has sung with Maestro Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera; Covent Garden (London); Seoul, Korea; Tel-Aviv, Israel; Mikkeli, Finland; Baden Baden, Germany; Beijing, China; Birmingham, England and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
In November 2006, Ms. Khudoley made her house debut at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London as Lisa in Pique Dame, conducted by Maestro Simon Bychkov, stage direction Francesca Zambello. The London Times said the following about Ms. Khudoley’s Covent Garden debut; “And to complete a fine Russian trio at the heart of this baleful work, Mlada Khudoley (in her Covent Garden debut) summons lacerating power and seemingly inexhaustible angst as the deluded Liza.”
In March 2007, Ms. Khudoley sang four performances of “Tannhäuser” with Maestro Seigi Ozawa, stage direction by Robert Carsen with Tokyo Opera Nomori, Japan.
In November 2007, Ms. Khudoley will make her Greek National Opera debut as Abigaille “Nabucco.”
December 4, 2007, Ms. Khudoley will make her Carnegie Hall debut in “Les Noces” by Stravinsky, conducted by Maestro Gergiev. Ms. Khudoley will perform Lisa “Queen of Spades” with the Kirov Opera at Kennedy Center December 6-14, 2007.
In February 2008, Ms. Khudoley will make her house debut at Dallas Opera as Salome “Salome”, and will sing the season opening performances of Aida “Aida” for Minnesota Opera in September 2008.
In January 2009, Ms. Khudoley will make her house debut as Abigaille “Nabucco” at Opernhaus Graz.
