General | | Biography: | The winner of the 1999 Richard Tucker Award, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe has rapidly become one of the most highly respected artists of her generation.
Recent opera engagements have included Baba the Turk in The Rake’s Progress, Jocasta in Oedipus Rex, Cornelia in Guilio Cesare, and Mere Marie in Dialogues des Carmélites at the Metropolitan Opera. This season Ms. Blythe returns the Metropolitan Opera as Frugola, Principessa, and Zita in the new production of Il Trittico, to the Seattle Opera as Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri and to the Royal Opera, Covent Garden as a triumphant Azucena. |
