General | | Biography: | Brian Asawa is at the forefront of the current generation of countertenors. He has appeared with most of the world's leading baroque conductors including William Christie, Christopher Hogwood, Nicholas McGeegan, John Nelson, Marc Minkowski, Christophe Rousset.
He has appeared at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, San Francisco Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Cologne Opera, Netherlands Opera, Hamburg State Opera, San Diego Opera, Teatro di San Carlo, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Bordeaux Opera, Paris Opera and Teatro Real Madrid to name a few.
Mr Asawa's future engagements include Tolomeo in 'Giulio Cesare' at the Seattle Opera, and New Israeli Opera, Ottone in 'Poppea' at the Hamburg State Opera, Fyodor in 'Boris Godunov' at the Wiener Staatsoper and title role in 'Ascanio in Alba' in Mexico City. |
