General | | Biography: | A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the recipient of numerous awards in his native Australia, David Hansen made his European debut in 2004 in Aix-en-Provence as the Spirit (Dido & Aeneas). He made his UK debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Emmanuelle Haim and sang Handel’s 'Fernando' with Alan Curtis in Spoleto. He has also recorded Purcell Odes with Stephen Cleobury for EMI Classics. His future engagements include Gandarte in Poro with Konrad Junghanel at the Göttingen Handel Festival, Didymus in Theodora with Rene Jacobs at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Tolomeo in Guilio Cesare with Den Norske Opera in Oslo and with La Monnaie in Brussels and Trinculo in The Tempest with Santa Fe Opera. In concert he will make his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle and sing the title-role of Solomon with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Rene Jacobs on tour to Paris, London and New York. |
