General | | Biography: | Selected for the Finals of the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition and for Placido Domingo's Operalia Competition, the young Ukrainian baritone Pavel Baransky is a rare talent and surely a star of the future. After studying at the Zurich Opera, this season he has joined the company of the Hamburg State Opera where his roles include Eugene Onegin, Ford, Belcore and Germont.
Outside of Hamburg he has performed Silvio for the Welsh National Opera as well as several appearances at the BBC Proms. Later this season he will perform Silvio for the Metropolitan Opera and is currently preparing to make his debut at Carnegie Hall with L'Amore dei tre Re.
He made his Glyndebourne Festival debut with 'A Betrothal in a Monastery' and appeared in a new work for the the Orchestre National de France called, 'The Poisoned Garden'.
