General | | Biography: | British bass Tim Mirfin was a principal artist of Welsh National Opera for the 2001/02 season, singing Don Pedro in Berlioz’ 'Beatrice and Benedict', Publio in 'La Clemenza di Tito' and Don Ferrando in Beethoven’s 'Leonore', and for the 2002/03 season when he sang Angelotti in 'Tosca', The Parson in 'The Cunning Little Vixen' and Colline in 'La Boheme'. He made his debut at the 2001 Edinburgh Festival in 'Les Troyens' conducted by Donald Runnicles, returning to the 2002 Festival for Enesco’s 'Oedipe' and Rossini’s 'Petite Messe Solonnelle' and in 2003 for Handel’s 'Poro' under Emmanuelle Haim and Verdi’s 'Macbeth' under Sir Charles Mackerras. He sang Sarastro in 'The Magic Flute' with Scottish Opera, and Truffaldino in 'Ariadne auf Naxos' for Welsh National Opera. Tim is a principle member of the Hamburg Opera, where roles include Selim, Peter Quince, Publio and Pistola. |
