General | | Biography: | Morton Hyson, bass, was born in Detroit, Michigan. He made his professional debut as the Grand Inquisitor in “The Gondoliers” with the Dallas Lyric Opera. Subsequent professional performances have included The Sacristan in “Tosca,” The Bonzo in “Madame Butterfly,” Colline in “La Boheme” and Balthazar in “Amahl and the Night Visitors,” all with the Nevada Opera Theatre. In September, 2002, he performed as a soloist at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In December, 2003, he performed the role of Doctor Bartolo in “Marriage of Figaro” at Merkin Hall, Lincoln Center, New York. Mr. Hyson graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music DEGREE, where he studied OPERA. He also studied Trombone with Robert Boyd, Principal Trombonist with the Cleveland Orchestra. |
