General | | Biography: | Veronica Henderson studied music at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and then specialised in the cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Solo work has taken her to Switzerland and Belgium, particularly with the choir, Cambridge Voices, with whom she gave the first performances of Carl Rütti’s “Lieder der Liebe”. She was invited to perform this work again in 2005 as part of a prestigious award-giving ceremony for the composer’s lifetime achievements, and in Cambridge, in May 2007, when it was a central feature of a Festival of Music in Concert & Liturgy at the Church of Our Lady & the English Martyrs.
This year she has returned to Strathclyde University with Katharine Durran for a recital entitled "Many Happy Returns", celebrating the Chopin and Schumann bicentenaries, and she will be playing for the Cambridge Szeged Society and Anglia Ruskin University later in the year.
Future performances in Scotland include recitals for St Giles at Six, in Edinburgh, and return visits to Strathclyde and Moffat Music Society in 2011. | | Teachers: | David Strange, Joan Dickson, William Pleeth |
